Weeding out retired neighbors can be quite a chore in itself. My 1st line of defense is the group Family Farm Foreclosures. Here Fantastic Admins unite with other farmers to post those that quit the game OR simply 'vanish', going inactive.

Since we are dealing with farmers around the world, posting several times at different hours of the day would be advised.

But I've also been asked about more difficult situations. Players have played & retired from several games over the years, & perhaps have to retain neighbors for several games at once. I'm lucky, I only started my account 10 months ago & Family Farm is the only game on my dance card. But... Re posting a modified Post to meet your situation in the same way will go a long ways.
