Slow Nectar Collection Tip: Lots of Nectar Fast
.
Ongoing glitches with bee houses have reduced my nectar collecting to a drizzle. Before Changeover my bee-houses flooded the tree groves with a boisterous and almost rampaging herd of fluttering butterflies, pollinating everything in just seconds! But lately, despite trying everything possible (and even with three butterfly homes in each of three respective bee houses), only one cautious and almost fearful butterfly emerges from a single house and slowly limps back and forth to the nectar-producing trees grouped in a cluster of groves close by.
THEREFORE: I filled a 36 count grove with fast growing pears next to the bee house that spits out "the butterfly". Auto harvest is OFF so that one butterfly required by the rest of the herd to do the job can slowly pollinate them all. This way I get at least 100 nectar per day.
It must be a union job. 😀
